China Warrior

China Warrior is basically a Chinese action fighting game that features giant characters killing each other and that’s when the fun stops. This is basically a demo that was shown to Japan to get them interested in the TG. Don’t gat fooled by the graphics this game gets real old real quick. With only a few offensive moves and only 4 levels this game is easily not worth the $6. As we all know the other “Chinese” game we have is Romance of the Three Kingdom IV: Wall of Fire (SNES) and China Warrior is just as bad if not worse. It’s at the bottom of the VC heap along with Baseball (NES), J.J. and Jeff (TG16), and Altered Beast (GEN). If you’re looking for an action fighting game try Streets of Rage 1 or 2 (Both on GEN) or Legend of the Mystic Ninja (SNES).

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Ocarina of Time is epic, it’s amazing, and the list goes on. Ocarina of Time (OoT) was Nintendo’s first 3-D Zelda game. In this game you join Link, a simple boy in a forest village. Everybody in the village has a fairy except Link, until one day when the guardian of the forest summons him and the adventure of a lifetime begins. OoT, has everything you want in a game great storyline, long gameplay, comedy, suspense romance, the list goes on. The graphics are a little sub-par compared to other games, of the time period. Sound is great it has everything from full orchestra to a solo you’ll be humming the tunes for days. Bottom line if you don’t have this game what are you waiting for get it now!

Paper Mario

Paper Mario may be dubbed as the best RPG on VC, and it might be. In 1998 this game was announced as Super Mario RPG 2, and finally in 2001 it was released right as the N64 feel to the Gamecube. In this game Mario needs to get back Peach and her castle by getting the 7 star spirits scattered across the land. First thing you notice is unlike other RPG its funny. The soundtrack as well, Is phenomenal. Pick it up now.

F-Zero X

The original F-Zero broke what Mario Kart made, while kart revolutionized the racing genre, F-Zero drove a freakin’ flying car down the middle of it, with it it’s N64 sequel it’s no different. The N64 version of Nintendo’s futuristic racing series stays to its SNES roots in being nearly identical in the fell of the game in the fact that it’s a futuristic racing game. That doesn’t mean it’s a 3-D port no-surrey it’s a completely new game. One difference between the two games first off you can tell that the tracks have expanded from flat 2-D to winding, twisting 3-D. Another thing upgrading from the original is the car selection from 4 in the original to 30 each with its own strength and weakness and color choices. This game as well sticks to Nintendo racing fashion in the fact of multiplayer races and a death race where you have to knock other cars off the track. There is as well a practice mode and a time trail If this game doesn’t glitch like Mario Kart 64 this cold easily be the racer on Virtual or a close second behind the original F-Zero. The graphics are great and should be picked up by any racing fan. If you liked Mario Kart 64 just imagine it futuristic and you got F-Zero X

Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

I have mixed feelings about this game first off I didn't like this release because me, Bulerias, and a LOT of Nsiders picked Shining in the Darkness over this game in Papasmalls prediction thread, but I do have to say kudos Nintendo for releasing 2 good Nintendo games in one week. Well anyway Street Fighter is a Beat 'Em Up that you choose from 12 characters and beat the living snot out of the other ones. This is basically an upgrade from the original Street Fighter II, some of the improvements are the fact that the boss characters are unlockable from the beginning. Also there are new moves and costume colors. Finally the coolest new feature is the fact that it has Turbo Mode where the characters go really fast. The only thing bad about this game is besides what I listed above this is basically the same game as the original Street Fighter II, but thanks to Turbo Mode a lot faster. If you havn't like me downloaded the original and was thinking of download this one instead or else face slow fighting. If you're a 2-D fighting game fan pick up this game

Kirby Dream Course

What do you get when Nintendo combines 2 great things and makes a game out of it? You get a great game; this is the fine line for Kirby Dream Course. In this game you play as Kirby going through 3 courses of fun mini-golf action. Still sticking with the series idea it has many familiar enemies and characters. You can as well challenge a friend to play you with the multiplayer mode. This game only having 3 courses is pretty short, but multiplayer and great soundtrack makes up for it. If you’re a fan of either Kirby or mini-golf you’ll love this game. It’s a great addition and be the best “sports game” out on VC. As I like to say, “It’s Kirby and min-golf what’s not to love.”

Super Mario Bros. 2

Super Mario Bros. 2 had to live up to the standards set by its original, but instead we got what we have today. In Japan it was a harder version of the original that didn’t, get released until Super Mario All-star for the SNES. The U.S. got a Japanese game called Doki Doki Panic with Mario and Friends faces on it. Well anyway SMB2 takes place in the dream world of Subcon, ruled by the evil toad Wart. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and guess who…Toad (Yes Toad) have to defeat Wart and save the citizens of Subcon. Even though it may be different, but it’s still a Mario platformer to and through. The new added game mechanic is the fact that you can throw your enemies at other enemies. Speaking of Enemies this game has many new enemy that are series stays such as Birdo and Shy Guys. Back on to the subject of the 4 character each one has its own strength and weaknesses weather its jumping, strength, or speed it’s all part of the game. Bottom line, even though it may be different it is a good Mario game.

DK Jr. Math

Yes unfortunately D.K. Jr. Math is educational. Yep kids that’s right you learn “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I know leave it to Nintendo to give us everything not fun of video games and expect us to pay $5 for it. Here’s my advice “DON’T GET IT!” sorry for the all caps, but like China Warrior it is at the bottom at the VC bin. For those one or two who actually like this game or are going to get it I feel sorry for you. In DJM you have to make it to a certain number by using numbers and symbols scattered around the vines, and using D.K. Jr. style you have to make it to the number. This gets boring real quick (Like regular math), and other then that there is truly nothing else to do.
